Amiria has a natural rapport with children. As a young mother herself, she provides an entertaining, interactive show that is enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Amiria has been performing to children for several years, wowing them with her dynamic storytelling and guitar playing. She creates a show with a strong theme and a story-song relationship that children respond to enthusiastically. The children are encouraged to join in with singing, poetry and movement, culminating in the opportunity to use percussion instruments provided.
An experienced performer at Early Childhood Centres, and Arts Festivals, Amiria, along with her performance partner, were selected as the Children’s Entertainers at Womad 2010 in New Plymouth and again in March 2012. They also were chosen as the Childrens performers for the Nelson Arts Festival 2012 and The Wanaka Festival of Colour 2013, Babypops Wellington 2013 & 2014 and the Taupo Arts Festival 2014.
As well as recording her own original albums, Amiria has featured on Roger Lusby’s SING OUT KIWI albums of children’s music.
